In the announcement, Eugenie gave an insight into the baby boy’s names, writing: “He is named after his great-great-great grandfather George, his grandpa George and my grandpa Ronald.”
Ernest’s triple-great grandfather would be Britain’s King George V – who was also the grandfather of Eugenie’s own beloved grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
George is also the name of Jack’s father, therefore Ernest’s grandfather and the Prince and Princess of Wales’s eldest son.
Ronnie pays homage to Eugenie’s maternal grandfather – Sarah Ferguson’s father.
The name reveal comes after many speculated that the 33-year-old would choose names based on people close to her heart.
Eugenie and Jack’s first son, two-year-old August was born in February 2021.
The little boy, who is affectionately referred to as Augie by his mother, holds the middle name of Philip – as well as Hawke.

Eugenie’s official announcement also mentions her first son, with the mother-of-two writing that August is “loving being a big brother already”.
As well as being Eugenie’s second child, Ernest is the third grandchild of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.
